Easy to Turn or Replace - When Done Right Feb 20, 2012

As the previous customer noted, these are impossible to remove if you try to pull them out with pliers. To unstick them, simply turn your water on a bit and the cartridge will slide right out. (Careful: If you turn the water up too high, the cartridge might fly across the room!) :-) Note you can also get these in a 4-pack which is much more economical.

I've been using these shower head refills for several years and they worked great until I purchased them for the first time from Amazon. While the online photo looked like the hard plastic version I had used in the past, I was sent a cheap imitation made of a lightweight clear plastic. After installing and using it for a month, I tried turning the filter as the manufacturer recommends, but to my dismay it could not be removed manually. I tried using pliers to grab onto the edge, but the edge crumbled into tiny pieces making it completely impossible to remove. This version of the product is a complete rip off. I will never purchase anything but books (if that) from Amazon again.
