Does the Job Mar 17, 2010

This product is made of a special KDF media, which is short for Kinetic Degradation Fluxion, a chemical process using a combination high purity of Zinc and Copper to neutralize Chlorine, Heavy Metals, and prevents bacterial growth. Be wary of shower filters using Carbon, as carbon stops functioning when water is hot or warm and starts to release impurities rather than absorb them. This is why this KDF media is effective in hot water with high flow rate.
This product is well put together and even has some quartz crystals to help "energize" the water. It also has a mesh to prevent sediment and fine particles from entering your shower. I don't smell chlorine when using this in the shower, and I did not notice any drop in water flow.
Good product.

limit steamed clorine Dec 04, 2008
By J. Welter Works well, it is not my first cartridge, I've used a shower filter for years now. It will last more than a year for one person showering daily, but it is helpful to have a coupling for back flushing the unit.
Additionally, it is difficult to install this filter in the housing without large water pump pliers, medium pliers, and Teflon tape. If you don't use these tools and tape to reseal the cartridge in the housing, the housing will leak.
Last, as the cartridge ages, hot and cold will mix differently, and sometimes it will take a subtle adjustment of the hot water to get anything other than cold water out of the head. I'm not sure if this applies to newer thermostatic valves.

By Britton I live in Vegas where the chlorine is ridiculous. This knocks it right out. I love these filtres and they last a long time.
