Aftermarket Filters for the HealthPro Plus is the Way to Go! Jun 22, 2011
By TheMick I have used the IQ Air brand filters in my Health Pro Plus for years now, but with all the recent issues with the bad smell and out gassing coming from some of the IQ Air HEPA filter I began looking for an alternative filter manufacturer. I found a filter manufacturer in New York (USA) that builds filters for the aerospace and medical industry. They now carry a full line of replacement filters for Health Pro and Health Pro Plus. The filters are housed in an aluminum housing (not Styrofoam like the IQ Air ones), they are exceedingly well built and have a pre-filter screen built in. The added bonus is that since they are built here in the USA they cost less.
So I am giving the IQ Air brand filter 3 stars due to their high price and additional charge for the pre-filter kit. With that said, I highly recommend "HEPA Air Direct" filters as a high quality and cost effective alternative to the IQ Air filters.

A good filter for a great air cleaner Mar 24, 2008
By Londo The IQAir is great, and the machine tells you when to change the filters, so it keeps working and working. And the V-5 helps take chemical smells from varnish out of the house very quickly.

Awesome filter, no other filter comes close Feb 07, 2009
By ReallyNot This is the gas and odor filter for the IQAir Healthpro PLUS. You can upgrade a HealthPro to a Plus (check IQAir's website for details). I just got the Plus to start with, and my wife and I are glad we spent the extra money upfront.
The filters seem pricey. THEY AREN'T. The filters last a stupefyingly long time. It filters some 200 gases including VOCs. I just used the filter to easily clear the air in minutes after spraying some Bissell carpet cleaner that has a ungodly strong "scent".
An IQAir Healthpro Plus saved my wife and I from suffering while several brush fires over the past few years have lapped at our neighborhood. Before having the IQAir, we both suffered gravely whenever brush fires were anywhere within 50 miles.
After two years of us raving about our IQAir, our next door neighbors (asthma sufferers) sought refuge in our home during the last fire which was a couple miles upwind and within sight of our house. One evening of easy breathing was enough to convince the cheapskates to pony up for an IQAir (and donate to charity their various Honeywell, Hunter and other big-box store joke filters scattered around their house).

Very straight forward, it's a filter. By all appearances, IQAir has created an efficient, quality product and the difference in the air quality is wonderful.

I purchased IQ Air HealthPro about 12 years ago and it still works great. At the time I was using an Austin Air as well as an ionizer. Since birth, I have had tested allergic to dust, environmentals, and various fragrances. I definitely could tell an improvement with the IQ Air HealthPro in that it seemed to remove finer particulates from the air and it felt easier to breathe. I was so impressed that I bought a second IQ Air - this time a HealthPro Plus with the V5 odor and gas removal cell. It is still working great as well. Sometimes lately either one will make a slight high pitch noise but I have found if I move it around on the tile floor, the high pitch noise goes away; so I think the motor may be sensitive to being off balance but I am not sure about that.
I enjoy the HealthPro Plus even more and I especially like it near the kitchen as it removes cooking odors! Both of my IQ Air HealthPros use the HEPA filter for which this review is for. I think the HEPA filters used in the IQ Air are superior to the other brands I have tried. At times over the years, I have wondered if my allergies were cured so I would try turning off the air purifiers. When I turned it back on over the next couple of days I could definitely tell an improvement in ease of breathing, relaxation, comfort, and less sinus congestion. As I have been using these two machines for over a decade, you can well imagine that I have purchased A LOT of filters!
