Yep, it's an air filter Dec 26, 2008

"Myrlynne"
I have severe allergies, so we run our air purifier all night, every night in the bedroom. It's a great deal for us to find this full size heppa filter for our machine. If we used the universal replacement filters, we'd need to use 3 of them. By the time we stack them, we get half rubber edging and half heppa filter. I much prefer the full size heppa filter. I think it does a more efficient job.

Filter with odor May 29, 2010
By D. A. Deharak I received my New 24000/24500 Honeywell Air Cleaner Replacement Filter. First off you most likly should know that this is NOT a original Honeywell Filter. It is Made by another Company. That is Ok But That should be Noted as such.
So i put the replacement filter in my Honeywell Unit and turned it on The filter Put out a real nasty Smell for the First day. It smelled like Melting Plastic and glue. I would guess this must be the smell from the bonding process they used to put it together. Who knows. I have had this filter for about a Month And the other day I turned my Machine on high for about a Hour while i was cleaning some rugs And that strange Plastic smell returned.
Funny you would use a Filter to clear the room of dust Hoping you would get a nice clean room AND NOT MAKING THE ROOM SMELL BAD IN THE PROCESS!

Replacement Filter Oct 13, 2011
By Gift Giver The filter element was a direct replacement for the OEM part. Installation was not a problem. There was a short period of noticeable "new" but not objectionable odor after the element was installed.

Not honeywell Aug 10, 2011
By DBT Well, They tried hard to make it like a Honeywell, but they fell short. I will never buy another Honeywell product again, since they stop making their own product and we are forced to buy generic junk. This filter did not fit correctly, so it did not seal 100% at the top. ALso, for some reason, the unit now runs with a wobble, meaning the filter weight or size is not concentric. It runs fine when I remove the filter, so it proves it is the filter. I guess I will make some sort of gasket for the top and just deal with it. I really wish I knew where I could by a authentic Honeywell filter.

Hepa, A filter that can last for years! May 23, 2011
By chazz I purchased a Honeywell 24500... The inside part of my privious Honeywell Hepa filter (the center diameter that releases clean air) was still bright white But seriously, after ten years of use, I felt now really, it's ignorant not to replace it. It really hurt to get rid of it. But, I'm no expert on indoor contaminents (I was judging only by color), I know... not too smart! I replaced the Honeywell 24500 Hepa filter, From one I purchased from Amazon.
I also, replaced the "pre-wrap" filter. I have been purchasing 2 in a package From Amazon for about $10.00. Note: They are a must have. You change them after sev- eral months. Just check them every few months, you will know whether it needs changing, IT'll start to look a little like your clothes dryer filter. You know when to clean that.
The purchase of the $45.00 Honeywell filter, was a good deal, it will probably outlast me. I recomend Amazon to all that don't buy retail. It is a very good web site do business with.
